We also received $300 as welcome money on the day we arrived in Texas. Three days later, we got another $800 at their office. Our rent is sorted for 4 months. Our family of 4 each gets a total budget of $2000. That money goes towards your rent and so on.
We also have another program that gives us $1000 cash per month to use for food and other things.
We went to a food bank and received 3 boxes full of food — enough to feed us for 2 weeks — and you get really good stuff there.
We got a phone with unlimited calls and data, fully paid for a year. Just be aware that you can't use the phone as a hotspot and you're not allowed to remove the SIM card.
Every area has different benefits — some areas offer more than others.
But everyone can rest assured that you will be taken care of. There is a lot of work. I've already had 4 interviews in the 2 weeks we've been here, from different places. Create a profile on LinkedIn and on Indeed — companies are very active there.

That's also true. I am aware of 1 bad area where we are currently helping families to move out of. But the agency has been reported and is under investigation.

I 100% agree!! People don't need to worry about rent and all those things. There are so many programs. I don't even use my own money for food. I am allowed to hotspot with my phone. Next week I'm getting WiFi in my apartment for 6 months for free. They're also going to give me remote work from home once my foot is better. Unfortunately I might need another operation. I'm going to see the doctor in Atlanta on Tuesday. I really can't complain and I'm so grateful.
