Polokwane – 29 May 2026
Police in Limpopo have launched an intensive manhunt for three suspects following a violent farm attack in Immerpan under the Zebediela policing area, where two male farm employees were shot and seriously wounded during an attempted robbery and murder on Wednesday evening.
The incident occurred at approximately 17:45 on 27 May 2026 when three unknown male suspects, all wearing balaclavas, forced their way into a house on the farm. One suspect was armed with a firearm, while the other two carried knives.
According to preliminary police investigations, the armed suspect fired a shot into the air to intimidate the victims before demanding money. When the two employees attempted to flee, the gunman opened fire, shooting both in the upper body.
The suspects then ransacked the premises before fleeing on foot with a cellphone, a pair of white Puma tekkies (sneakers), and cooking oil. One of the victims, a 34-year-old man, managed to free himself and alert help.
Emergency Medical Services and police rushed to the scene. Both victims were transported to hospital where they are recovering from severe gunshot wounds.
Limpopo police have confirmed they are investigating cases of attempted murder and robbery. A massive manhunt for the three suspects is underway.
“Police investigations are continuing,” authorities said in a statement.
Anyone with information that could assist the investigation is urged to contact the investigating officer, Sergeant Maredi Kanyane, on 072 602 0320 or 072 100 3842. Tips can also be submitted via the Crime Stop number 08600 10111, the nearest police station, or the MySAPS App.
Farm attacks remain a serious concern in parts of Limpopo, with rural communities often calling for heightened security and faster police response times in remote areas.
